The year 2021 yielded remarkable societal impact arrhythmia papers reporting on important public health issues, the latest ESC 2021 pacing guidelines, ran­domized trials on atrial fibrillation (AF) and cardiac pacing, and intriguing multidisciplinary aspects of AF, with progress in ventricular arrhythmias, in particular an outstanding series of Brugada syndrome (BrS) studies.
