Summary
We describe the case of a 91-year-old woman in excellent general condition with known thrombocytopenia for many years who died as a result of cerebral embolisation two weeks after the very likely diagnosis of left atrial myxoma. The invasive examination and surgical intervention we had planned did not take place.
